Food & Nutrition Data

• Food images you capture using the camera
• Meal information and your edits (portion sizes, food items)
• Your nutrition goals and preferences
• Logged meals with timestamps

Requested Permissions

• Camera: To capture food photos for AI recognition
• Location (Optional): To detect your locality for better food recommendations
• Notifications (Optional): To send meal logging reminders and notifications

What We Do NOT Collect

• No account creation or personal identity information
• No email or phone number
• No advertising tracking or analytics
• No location history (only current locality if enabled)
• No data is sent to cloud servers except images for processing and purchase info

2. How We Process Your Data

Your data is handled with strict privacy protocols:

Cloud Image Processing

• Food images are securely sent to our cloud for AI analysis but are immediately discarded and never stored
• Nutrition calculations are processed based on the analysis
• Results are returned instantly

Local Storage

• Meal logs are stored in local device storage
• No cloud backup or server synchronization
• Complete data ownership remains with you

Optional Permissions

• Location: Used locally to improve food database results for your region. Not stored or shared.
• Notifications: Used locally to send reminders. Not tracked or analyzed.
• All permissions can be revoked in device settings anytime

Always Private

Your nutrition data never leaves your device and images are never stored on our servers. This is our core privacy commitment.

3. Data Storage & Retention

Secure Storage

We do not store meal logs, nutrition data, or food photos on our servers (only purchase history is stored). Your daily data remains completely private and under your control.

Hybrid Architecture

• Food photos are processed in the cloud for AI analysis but never stored
• Meal logs are stored locally in your app
• Nutrition data is kept on your device
• No cloud backup or server-side storage of personal logs

Data Deletion on Uninstall

When you uninstall CalEye, ALL your local data is permanently deleted. Food photos, meal logs, nutrition history, goals—everything is removed from your device. Only secure purchase history may be retained.

Technical Logs

Minimal crash error logs and performance data are kept for up to 7 days for diagnostic purposes, then deleted. No personal nutrition data is included.

4. Permissions & Features

Camera Permission

CalEye requests camera permission to capture food photos for AI analysis. Photos are securely processed on our cloud servers but are never stored.

Location Permission (Optional)

Location access is optional and used ONLY to detect your locality for improved food recommendations. This helps serve better food database results based on regional cuisines and local eating patterns. Location data is not stored or shared.

Notification Permission (Optional)

Notification access is used to send you meal logging reminders and streak notifications. Notifications remain on your device and are not connected to external tracking services.

No Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not share your location, notification preferences, or any personal data with third-party services. All processing happens locally on your device.

5. Your Rights & Control

Complete Ownership

All your nutrition data, meal logs, and food photos belong 100% to you. They reside only on your device.

Delete Anytime

Delete individual meals, clear your entire log, or reset your app. All deletion is immediate and permanent.

Permission Control

You can revoke camera, location, or notification permissions anytime from your device settings. CalEye respects your choices.

No Data Export Needed

Since all data stays on your device, export is not needed. You always have direct access to your local files.

No Advertising

CalEye does not use your nutrition data for targeted ads, analytics tracking, or share it with advertisers.

6. Security

CalEye prioritizes your data security:

• Your local data remains safely on your device
• No personal logging data is stored on external servers
• Camera images are analyzed securely and immediately discarded
• Location data is processed locally, never stored remotely
• No cloud database with personal nutrition information
• Purchase history is securely managed

7. Children's Privacy

CalEye is not intended for users under 13. If we discover a child has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Significant changes will be notified through the app. Continued use of CalEye after changes means you accept the updated policy.
